The only reason why he says that is bcs the Japanese were not the 'main' contenders in all of these sports! Football began in England, Baseball in America, Basketball (forgot where) and Ballet in Russia. HOWEVER, the inventors were not always the best. For example, in football, a sport that I love with a passion, it was dominated by Italy and Spain before recently when England became better due to the sad crop of new generations of players! Germany dominated the sport a couple of times as well! And outside Europe, it is actually the Japanese and Chinese competing with each other at Football, unlike Russia who got kicked out of FIFA for their 'Putin' problem...

So yeah, the Russians should really be careful spouting nonsense since they started a fire themselves. Especially against the Japanese!

Well, he does want to go overseas, prolly for a reason. And in comparison with Russian pros, Japanese dancers are generally less elegant? I think? I don't know, but Russians tend to be long and slender while Japanese guys are shorter.

Dude, Russians consume Vodka on a daily basis just to get warm and most of the men there look rugged and ready for a fight! Have you seen Hockey? That is the sport they dominate into, not ballet. Their women are great at this, but the men, NO WAY! :)))))))))

You have... a very stereotypical view of Russians in general. Have you seen RL Russian male ballet dancers? They go through hellish spartan training to achieve the maximum elegance in ballet similar to the ladies. That's why the Russian troupes of ballet (can't spell the names lol), are the big dreams that Luou is talking about that one shouldn't speak lightly of.

Again you're generalizing though. If they are pursuing ballet they probably have alcohol under control enough that it doesn't stop them from improving or looking well. I've been doing ballet for 10 years. There are so many elegant Russian men and women doing ballet

Russia has the top dancers in the world... not so different than saying who wants to see Japanese playing soccer and then being offered tickets to see a top European league match.

I understand that and all, but the irony here is that he is a Japanese ballet dancer himself, so he of all people saying this is kinda like shooting himself in the foot since he’d obviously want people to watch him dance too.

I live in NY. I've seen much strangers things at the park and didn't even flinch. Guys doing ballet would actually be pretty tame.

Honestly I wouldn't make much of anything out of it. Ballet is ballet. It's for cultured and noble people :) But I would definitely stay and watch.

I agree. Jumpei's the man here even though he can act a bit stupid at times. And I'm also starting to like Luou as well especially when he loosens up a little. I'll admit that I don't like Luou at first and didn't expect to like him but now I am beginning to like him.
